Recovery & Motherhood
Should Never Be Separated

"A mother should never have to choose between healing herself and raising her child."

The Midway Mom Project is Griffin, Georgia's first residential recovery program created specifically for pregnant and postpartum women. Here, mothers don't recover away from their children โ€” they heal alongside them.

Women and their children live together on campus in a safe, supportive environment for up to 12 months, giving families the opportunity to rebuild, bond, and break generational cycles together. Because recovery is stronger when motherhood is protected.

About the Program

What Is the
Midway Mom Project?

A safe place where a mother's recovery and her role as a parent are treated as one โ€” not competing priorities.

The Midway Mom Project offers 12 months of residential care in Griffin, GA for pregnant and postpartum women in recovery. Every program element is designed around one truth: a mother heals best when her children are safe and close.

On-Campus Family Living

Mothers and children share residential space for the full duration of the program โ€” no separation, no distance.

Flexible 12-Month Timeline

Recovery doesn't follow a calendar. Our program provides up to one full year of residential support.

Peer Support from Mothers in Recovery

Our staff includes mothers who have lived this journey โ€” mentors who truly understand what you're facing.

Grant-Funded Access

Supported by the Georgia Opioid Settlement Trust โ€” so cost is never a reason a mother can't get care.

Program Pillars

Everything You Need. All in One Place.

The Midway Mom Project wraps clinical care, prenatal health, parenting support, and life skills into one comprehensive residential experience.

Clinical

Certified Addiction Counseling

Individual therapy, psychoeducation groups, and evidence-based relapse prevention โ€” led by certified counselors who understand the unique intersection of addiction, trauma, and motherhood. We treat the whole person, not just the substance use.

Prenatal Health

Remote Monitoring via Operation M.I.S.T.

Every pregnant mother in the program receives smartwatch health monitoring and real-time blood pressure tracking. Clinical staff receive automatic alerts when readings need attention โ€” so every pregnancy is watched over, every day.

Family

Trauma-Informed Parenting Support

Weekly parenting classes, supervised visitation coordination when needed, and compassionate support that centers family reunification. We partner with DFCS and family court โ€” always advocating for mothers and children to stay together.

Life Skills

Life Skills & Independent Living

Financial literacy, cooking, job readiness, and household management โ€” the practical tools every mother needs to build a stable, independent home for her family after graduation. Leaving isn't an ending; it's what we prepare for from day one.

Daily Life

A Day in the Midway Mom Project

Structure is one of the most powerful tools in recovery. Here's a glimpse of what life in our program looks like โ€” organized, supportive, and built around both healing and mothering.

Morning

Rise, Routine & Breakfast

The day begins with structure โ€” morning routines with children, a shared meal, and a grounding start. Structure is healing. So is a warm breakfast together.

Mid-Morning

Group Therapy & Psychoeducation

Clinical programming runs in the morning while younger children are supervised on campus. Topics include trauma, relapse prevention, emotional regulation, and maternal identity.

Midday

Life Skills & Parenting Classes

Practical sessions in financial literacy, cooking, household management, and parenting skills โ€” equipping mothers with tools they'll use every day after graduation.

Afternoon

Family Time & Individual Sessions

Afternoons are protected time for mothers and children โ€” plus one-on-one counseling appointments, case management meetings, and health monitoring check-ins.

Evening

Peer Support & Community

Evening programming brings the community together โ€” peer-led support groups, shared meals, and the quiet strength of women who understand each other.

Night

Rest & 24-Hour Support

Overnight staff are always present. Whether a baby is fussy or a mother is struggling, support is available around the clock โ€” so no one faces a hard night alone.

Operation M.I.S.T.
Prenatal Innovation

Every Pregnancy,
Watched Over

Through Operation M.I.S.T., every pregnant woman in the Midway Mom Project receives continuous remote health monitoring โ€” so clinical staff are always aware, and every mother always feels seen.

When a reading falls outside a safe range, our team reaches out immediately. Prenatal care doesn't stop because a mother is in recovery โ€” it becomes even more important.

Operation M.I.S.T. Health Monitoring

Real-time prenatal tracking through smartwatch technology โ€” giving mothers and our clinical team peace of mind every hour of every day.

Continuous Heart Rate Monitoring

Smartwatch-based tracking flags any concerning patterns in real time.

Blood Pressure Tracking

Daily readings with clinical review โ€” catching hypertension and preeclampsia risk early.

Real-Time Clinical Alerts

When readings need attention, our team is notified immediately and reaches out directly.

Coordinated OB Care

On-site monitoring is paired with coordinated obstetric appointments in the community.

For the Children

Their Wellbeing
Is Part of the Plan

Children don't just come along for the ride โ€” they are central to it. The Midway Mom Project builds programming around both mother and child, because healing one means caring for both.

On-Campus Residence

Children live with their mothers throughout the program โ€” no separation required.

Supervised Safety

24-hour staffing ensures children are always in a safe, supervised environment.

Developmental Support

Age-appropriate activities, routines, and early childhood support woven into daily life.

Bonding & Attachment

Parenting programming actively supports secure mother-child bonding throughout recovery.

School Enrollment Within 7 Days

Every school-aged child is enrolled in the Griffin-Spalding County School System within one week of arrival. A mother's recovery should never interrupt her child's education.

DFCS & Family Court

We Work With
the System for You

Navigating DFCS involvement while in recovery is one of the most stressful things a mother can face. We don't leave you to manage it alone โ€” we walk alongside you as an advocate and a partner.

Direct DFCS Coordination

We communicate directly with caseworkers on your behalf and provide documentation of your participation and progress in treatment.

Family Court Support

Our staff can provide court-ready documentation and coordinate with your attorney and the court to reflect your commitment to recovery and your family.

Reunification as the Goal

Everything we do is oriented around keeping families together โ€” or reuniting them. Your sobriety is the strongest case you can make, and we help you make it.

You Don't Have to Choose Between Getting Well and Being a Mother

The Midway Mom Project exists because we believe both are possible โ€” at the same time, in the same place, with the right support. Call us today and let's talk about what that could look like for you and your family.

All conversations are confidential. No obligation. No judgment.
